No one will believe that you folded this out of a single sheet of paper. Of course, it will take a fair amount of work to achieve the multiple levels of this fractal design. The finished model looks like a flower or a star and makes a stunning decoration. Nathan will guide you through all the sinks and decreeping that is necessary. Make as many levels as you dare!

String of Cranes in a Box

Are you ready to be strung along? Learn how to make the perfect origami gift with this impressive string of cranes. Annie will also teach a gift box that makes an impressive presentation when you open the box and the string of cranes is lifted out. Be ready to fold eight small cranes out of 3” paper. Annie will supply all the decorative beads and thread you will need for this terrific project. Materials fee to be collected in class: $3. Class limited to 12.

Get into motion with these fun and fantastic moving modulars by Paolo Bascetta. The Clic Clac is a four-piece modular that you will find quite addictive to play with; it transforms from a flat coaster to a rectangular cuboid to a pyramid octahedron merely by pressing the correct corners. Wendy will also teach his Fleximasu, a clever flexagon comprised of connected masu boxes.

Here’s how to get wrapped up in origami. Tatos are traditional Japanese enclosures for small objects such as coins, stamps, needles, button, etc. These self-closing fancy envelopes can be used to wrap small flat gifts, money, business cards, greetings, medication, anything that you want to keep safe and sound. Sumako will teach a variety with different designs and shapes.

Get ready for a catfight! These adorable cats by Roman Diaz start from a rectangle. A color change shows off the cat’s eyes and belly. Jinni will show you all the secrets of making these graceful and seductive creatures. The model is fairly easy to fold but spend the extra time to give it a unique character.

A modern classic, the Flower Tower embodies all the best qualities of Chris Palmer’s designs. When the model is flat, it appears as a “flower” with nested petals. Tweek it here and there, and it turns into a spectacular 3-D “tower” that will amaze all your friends. Tony will teach several variations as time permits. It’s easier than it looks but still high intermediate!

Snap to it. Learn Heinz Strobl’s technique of using strips of paper wrapped around each other to make an icosahedron. Instead of strips of paper, Faye will provide ½” shiny ribbon. She will also describe how to use this technique to make other polyhedra. Faye has taught the technique all over the world and returns to Special Sessions for an encore class.

Dollar Guns and Rifles

Let Mr. Kennedy show you how to hit the Mark. Sure-fire models that will thrill, these dueling pistols and rifles are made from dollar bills. You can make either right- or left-facing firearms depending on the orientation of your bill. These models are on the mark to please. Bring crisp dollars to class if you can.

It’s party time! Here’s everything you will need to host that perfect soiree. Laura will teach her original designs including gift boxes, baskets, tray, snack dish, napkin fold and party invitation. All models are made from colorful copy paper. You’ll be set for a wonderful Easter or Passover.
