Tomoko Fuse boxes UNFOLDING THE SECRETS OF FUSE BOXES taught by Gay Merrill Gross INTERMEDIATE
Other than the "Brochure Box," how many 4-sided Tomoko Fuse boxes can you fold from memory? Gay will explore with you the inner structure common to most of Fuse's 4-sided boxes, allowing reconstruction without diagrams. Some elementary math will be discussed to reveal the formula that allows boxes and lids to neatly fit each other. Bring a pocket calculator if you have one. Please be skilled at folding from small (3-inch) size paper, and assembling 3-D modulars.

PORTFOLIO ENVELOPE taught by Tricia Tait and Kay Eng INTERMEDIATE
This envelope portfolio is large enough to really use it to store paper that is 8-1/2" by 11", and who doesn't need that? Tricia and Kay will provide large paper to fold from and a magnet for a good solid closure. A very useful model!

LOVELY MODULARS taught by Toby Schwartz INTERMEDIATE
Have you ever folded a model and discovered you've actually made a toy? Toby will take you on this lovely journey with three models: first the Kaleidoscope by Jan Sputz, then the "Magic Circle" by Florence Temko, and, if time permits, the "Stern Franziska" by Carmen Sprung (an 8-pointed star with a color change.) All charming and fun!

$ ROSE taught by Sok Song HIGH INTERMEDIATE
A rose folded from any other paper is a rose, but when it's folded from a dollar it's also an amazing tip! Sok will show you how to twist this fabulous flower from an ordinary greenback. Bring your own crisp dollars for the full effect!

Sunday, Oct. 21st, 2007 - Afternoon (2:30pm - 5pm)

JEWELRY WORKSHOP taught by Katherine Riley NOT RATED
Origami jewelry always makes a great gift. Katherine will teach some simple models and show you how to turn them into earrings and a pin. She will also discuss techniques for jewelry design, model preservation and the findings and tools used. Participants are welcome to bring their own jewelry making supplies. There is a $2 materials fee which will be collected in class.

FLOWER ARRANGEMENT taught by Ros Joyce LOW INTERMEDIATE
Ros will show you how to make a beautiful floral arrangement in a container that will bring a little spring into the winter months. Come for great design ideas that will transform some traditional models into a pretty decoration for your Thanksgiving table. This requires using a glue gun, floral wire and a piece of foam (which will be supplied).

MASK OF PAN taught by Doug Caine INTERMEDIATE
Join the "amazing Doug" and watch your own hands change a flat foil square into the 3-D horns, beard and face of the half-man, half-goat, woodland God of ancient Greek mythology -- in other words -- Kasahara's "Mask of Pan." This makes a great fold for Halloween. Doug will also teach Fred Rohm's Halloween cat if time permits. Two great spooky folds!

PURELAND DOG taught by Seth Friedman INTERMEDIATE
Seth is a new creator on the scene making amazingly graceful pureland animals. Seth will teach his sweet puppy and then other pureland animals as time permits. (P.S. "Pureland" means only mountain and valley folds are used and the model is folded from a square. This reduces difficult folding. Come try it, you'll love it.)

Elegant Dragons taught by Tony Cheng - image of dragon models by Chuck Esseltine ELEGANT DRAGON taught by Tony Cheng HIGH INTERMEDIATE
Tony will teach this dragon "in flight." (Tony won't be flying, the dragon will be!) This model by Chuck Esseltine has a long neck and tail with a wide wing-span and the option of being "fire-breathing." Tony will provide florist foil for a nicely-shaped model.
