NEW APPROACH FOR BEGINNERS taught by Toshiko Kobayashi BEGINNER
Toshiko has been working on a new approach for teaching beginners that does not involve diagrams. Her methods allow the folder to learn by doodling with the paper. This is a great class for those interested in teaching beginners or for beginner folders (adult or child); all are welcome.

LOVELY MODULARS taught by Tina Weintraub LOW INTERMEDIATE
Tina will teach any many of these as time permits: The lovely Ichibashi Ball, which is folded from six pieces of paper and yet manages to look round, a hacky-sack (another cool six piece modular) and a decorative wreath and star (each from eight pieces). All these models make great gifts when hung from a string or cord and look much more complex than they are.

LIGHT UP YOUR LIFE taught by MaryAnn Schblein-Dawson INTERMEDIATE
Light up the dreary days of winter with bright origami lanterns! MaryAnn will teach a 3-D lantern that can be used with a votive candle (real or battery-operated). And she will show you some traditional lanterns to use on a greeting card or as a package decoration. These lights are festive for any occasion.

METTE QUILT taught by Jan Polish INTERMEDIATE
Jan will teach a new, not yet published Mette Pederson model, a versatile modular that makes an exciting quilt. Mette's modulars always make wonderful patterns, now is your chance to fold the latest! More Mette models as time permits.

DOLLAR CAMERA taught by Marcio Noguchi HIGH INTERMEDIATE
This little camera may not have many "mega-pixels" but it sure has everything else a camera needs including a lens, flash and shutter buttons! Mario will teach Won Park's camera from a dollar bill. It is definitely the best camera for your money!

Sunday, Jan. 13th, 2008 - Afternoon (2:30pm - 5pm)

EAGLE taught by Doug Caine SIMPLE
Made from a single square, this is a soaring classic from the earliest of OrigamiUSA's archives. This is just 1% of the Giuseppi Baggi's self-imposed challenge to create 100 different eagles! Doug will teach the eagle and also show you how to turn it into a vulture. Both 3-D models will perch on your finger! Cool!

MUSICAL NOTES and DANCERS taught by Steve Terr INTERMEDIATE
You'll be dancing in your seat with these musical note and dancer models created by Jeremy Shafer. Steve will teach these models, which make use of pleating to make these great shapes.

Dishy Decorating taught by Carole VerEcke - image of origami dishes and plates DISHY DECORATING taught by Carole VerEecke INTERMEDIATE
Don't you love walking into a home decorated with touches of origami? Carole will teach a group of useful dishes and plates. Fill one with potpourri in your living room, put one by the door to drop your keys into, have one by the computer for your glasses! All these dishes are darling! Carole will also share techniques for wet-folding some for a nicer shape.

Basket and Wheelbarrow taught by Arlene Gorchev BASKET and WHEELBARROW taught by Arlene Gorchev INTERMEDIATE
It's not Spring, but these cute containers can brighten up the fall and hold flowers or candy. The basket model is designed to have pocket for a flower decoration that Arlene will teach. It can also be used flat for a card decoration. The wheelbarrow is made from four sheets of paper (two for the wheels, one each for the barrow and the handle). As time permits Arlene will teach flowers to fill these cheerful models.

JILOCAIN DRAGON taught by Mark Kennedy HIGH INTERMEDIATE
Mark will teach Jose Arley's variation on Bob Neale's dragon. Be sure to look for it on the holiday tree in the museum to get inspired for this class. The model will be wet-folded from wallpaper, which will allow you to mold the head, tail and wings for a good-looking and sturdy 3-D dragon.
