Tessellations by Tiles is designed to teach beginner/intermediate tessellation folders the common (and less common) structures that are used in origami tessellations so they can fold whatever patterns they want from crease patterns or photos and create their own variations and designs.
Instruction will take place in 24 weekly live workshops, 12 office hour sessions, and orientation, framing, and photography workshops over 6 months. All workshops will be recorded, with recordings from this and past sessions available to students forever in the class portal along with a growing collection of crease patterns, tools and instructions for diagramming, and instructions and template files for purchasing acrylic frames.
Students will also have lifetime access to a private discussion group and future repetitions of the live course, and each student will receive a paper pack including four sizes of hexagon cutting templates.
