Description

Today’s Theme: Pleat-folding

Using pleats in origami models has appeared in several different ways. Sometimes they are a small part of techniques used to shape or hide paper in the process of folding a model, and sometimes they play a very prominent role. Inspiration has come from pleated clothing in the fashion industry. Goran Konjevod uses pleat-folding to create beautiful bowls and other unusual art forms.

In this class, Goran will cover a pleat-based approach to folding a curved bowl or plate. He will teach the method and the participants will be able to finish a simple bowl or plate. He will also show some variations, including a way to embed objects within the bowl folded from the same sheet of paper.

Supplies

Use at least a 12" square precreased into a 32x32 grid of all valley folds.
