Love is in the air! We are a bit early for Valentine's Day, nevertheless Maria will teach a variety of heart models created by Francis Ow, Ildiko Vass and others. Models will include a heart, heart box, secret love boat, heart dish and more as time permits. Sail away on the punny secret love boat, which has a heart for sails! No experience is necessary. For children ages 8.5 and up. Adults without children are also welcome!

Tea Bags

Well, it’s not actually the teabags---it’s the wrappers that are fun to fold! Paula will show you how to trace the teabag wrapper shape onto an assortment of pretty papers and turn them into lovely wreath models which are perfect for cards, gift packages and other decorative uses. Paula will be teaching some new teabag models this session.

Winter is coming! So bring a splash of color to the grey days of November by making this multi-hued creation. Start off by learning Gay’s 5-color box using standard colored copy paper, then make a duo-paper version that can have as many as 9 colors. This will surely brighten any dull, dreary, drab day!

Bluebeard’s Castle

Up to the ramparts! Defend the realm! Okay, there are no ramparts but there are towers and turrets. This castle is created by using several basic modules joined together by tabs. The multitude of possible configurations is limited only by your fairy tale imagination. In class, students will build a castle that is slightly less elaborate than shown, but will include two towers, a turret and roofs with flags. Keep adding to your castle when you get home! Class size limited to 10.

Family Fun - Holiday Models

This holiday season is full of fun creative opportunities.  For Halloween we'll make a scary mask and a fox puppet. A turkey will take us to Thanksgiving and we'll complete our fun with a holiday card. This class is a great opportunity for families to explore the magic of origami together. No experience is necessary. For children ages 8 and up. Adults without children are also welcome!

CLASS CANCELLED

Get your hands dirty…but in a creative way of course! The class will use an interesting mix of techniques and media to create images. Media will include “ink-tense” watercolor pencils, water brushes, double tack mounting film, and fine-point markers as well as images and textures from magazines and junk mail. You can put them into a simple blintz base frame or you can create your own frames later.

Be jolly with this no-muss no-fuss no-watering no-dropped pine needles decoration! This festive Christmas tree is modular and consists of 7 umbrella bases constructed on a wire stand that will be provided. Stickers and bling to decorate the tree will also be provided.

She has come up with a way to understand the basics and will teach to how to expand your model from the center piece in a logical and easy manner.

Fractal Flower

That’s out of one piece of paper?!?!? Roman Diaz’s awesome Fractal Flower is one of the most exciting multi-sink, multi-level fractal models in recent years. It is currently unpublished except in some small distribution newsletters, so now’s the time to learn this jaw-dropper hands-on. It features several difficult gusset moves but depending on the size of paper you start out with and how nimble your fingers are, you can make as many levels as you dare!
