Joseph Hwang’s Squid. Folded and photographed by the designer. See PDF diagrams.

The squid is the first model in the marine origami series. The model is generalized into three parts: the body, fins and tentacles. The cone-shaped body of the squid is secured with a lock, and the unused paper in the cone folds out to create fins. The tentacles are left in a simple pleated form.

Suggested paper: 6-inch to 9-inch square.
